Top 25 iPad Apps!
You’ve got the iPad, that’s the easy part. Now let’s put it in use. Here, in my opinion, are 25 of the most epic apps and utilities. (Sorry but the apps are not in order of the way I like them).
1) 1Password £2.39
Step forward and buy this surprisingly useful app where you can type a much longer password which can take many letters and numbers unlike the normal apple passcode where you can only type 4 numbers. Also if you forget you’re apple passcode, you may not access your iPad whereas 1Password will let you put a hint. Here is a link to where you can learn more if you are interested in this app: http://agilewebsolutions.com/onepassword
2) New Amazon Kindle FREE
Have you heard of the New Amazon Kindle? Well it’s a device which lets you read books for free! But to do that you have to pay an awful amount of money to actually buy it. Now you can experience the exact same thing on the iPad for free. It is an amazing app so I suggest you look at this website for more information: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_ipad_mkt_lnd?docId=1000423883
3) Angry Birds HD £2.99 (Lite Is FREE!)
Have you ever played one of those games where you just sit on the couch all day, level after level? Well if you have, this app is certainly just like that. It’s all about some birds who want to defeat this green guy for no random reason. If I were you I would install the Lite version as it is not that addictive and only contains 12 levels. If you want to get this app then you can check this website out: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/angry-birds/id343200656?mt=84) BBC News FREE
Late for work maybe or have to go somewhere really quickly? Well this is the app for you (If you’re an adult!). With BBC News you can listen to the news in a car or whilst you’re running if you put your iPad in a bag. It’s simple. It’s quick. It’s FREE!

7) Civilization Revolution for iPad £7.99
Sid Meir’s all time classic strategy series lends itself to the iPad. It is the complete version with even more cool features and graphics. Labyrinth 2 is a game based on a ball which goes through obstacles which may make the ball fall into a hole. A hole is exactly where not to fall. 17) Dictionary/Thesaurus.com FREE
A dictionary is just a boring old book which just tells you the meanings of words. Now on the iPad it’s a whole lot cooler. For each word in the English language it writes past, present, and future tense. It also writes its noun, verb, adjective and adverb. And even more! It also writes similar meanings to the word. You can place stuff like turrets, goo cannons, rocket launchers, flamethrowers and zappers which zap you with lightning. Each and every single one of them can get upgraded 3 times. I’ve played this game myself before and it is the best game ever! 20) Command and Conquer Red Alert £7.49
The perfect strategy game for the iPad. Good graphics and gameplay. You can build troops, buildings and you can also research technologies which will lead your men to the path of victory! It’s a battle that you can control! Personally I think that this game goes perfectly with iPad style, touch screen gaming. More into the game, you can play as 3 teams: Soviet, Allied and Rising Sun. However, there have been many problems and IGN have given it a tolerable 6.5! Hmm… Check it out: http://uk.wireless.ign.com/articles/108/1081716p1.html

The endless battle between Flash and Silverlight
Firstly, flash is doing better in the market as it is the well known and more original program but Silverlight presents to us a program which brings all the stuff we wanted from flash.
Animation
Flash is based on frame animation, meaning that it works a bit like movie maker, where you place things in frames or slides and add more and more slides until an animation is created. On the contrary Silverlight is time based, you indicate a time for an image to be shown etc. Also Microsoft has made this program easier to use than flash in this sense since one is not required to calculate the positions of objects in the frames and it is more user friendly
File Size
Flash projects are compressed, using minimal space.
Silverlight uses a complex XAML description language and is not compressed so files are usually larger.
Scripting
In Flash, a scripting language called Action Script is used. It comes with a huge library of different applications for use.
In Silverlight there are many different scripts you can choose from.
Sound Processing
ActionScript offers a set of sound classes that can be used to generate and control sound in a movie. You can add sounds from the library while the movie clip is playing and control those sounds. If you do not specify a target when you create a new sound object, there are methods to control sound for the whole movie.
Silverlight doesn’t have the low-level audio APIs you would need to write an audio application in the browser. It doesn’t even support playback of WAV files because .NET programming language has very little audio playback support.
Ease of Use
Both programs have many options and tools that can be used for people who are deaf etc. However Flash has much, much more and definitely beats Silverlight this round.
For more info check this out: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/05/09/flash-vs-silverlight-what-suits-your-needs-best/
However overall, there is clearly a reason why flash is still selling more, because even according to this websites statistics, Flash is still the program you could trust more to get things right. But Microsoft is getting there and eventually enough improvements will be made.

Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4
If you've played one of the past LEGO games -- Star Wars, Batman or Indiana Jones -- the setup to LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 should be pretty easy to get the hang of it. Here, you're going to play through the defining moments of the first four movies and you're going to do it as little LEGO pieces in a little LEGO world. So if the play style is the same, what's so great about LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4?
erment of what I'd learn next that really kept me going. See, because these spells are so particular in what they do in the LEGO Harry Potter world, the game's teasing you with what's coming later. You'll walk down the hill to Hagrid's and pass Cornish Pixies holding items just out of your reach and treasure chests with locks that appear to be unbreakable. You know that you're going to learn how to best these challenges, but you don't know when.
Look below for the gameplay video:
This month Need for speed Hot Pursuit gives you an opportunity to ride in some of the most high performance cars. Unlike other Need for speed games, where you race against other rivals and enemies, in the Need for speed Hot pursuit you get to play as the cop, racer and also you get to play multiplayer worldwide.
Playing as cop in NFS is a tough job. Bust other racers and protect the city. Aim to disable other cars and drive an awesome Lamborghini Reventon.
Defeat rivals in career mode and unlock wicked cars like this Mercedes SLS AMG.For the first time ever in NFS history, you can play as both cop and racer. So, now which side are you on, Law enforcement or Racer.
"Ultimately Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit looks like a new birth for the franchise thanks to the fresh eyes of Criterion, bringing a lot of the features gamers will have loved in Burnout: Paradise with it, but with the unmistakable Need for Speed edge. It's certainly left us wanting more." - MSN Tech & Gadgets
"And no great action racer is complete without stunning motors - and the ones we saw at the EA stand in LA were in top gear... Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is out in November - and you Need to get it!" - News of the World
"A definite contender for the coveted top spot at Christmas" - Daily Star Sunday
"It's almost automatically the best Need for Speed in a decade, a simple, pristine heaven for high-speed arcade racing."-EuroGamer
Here’s an epic video made by NFS on YouTube. Check it out.

Playstation Move Games!
There's been quite a few "Move" games released, all are pretty different so here is a list of top games (please note these will all later be published on a Move/Kinect page I will probably make in the future and I will):
The Games which use the Camera:
EyePet:
It's soooo cool. Some people may have seen the PS2's EyeToy technology, but this is like never before. For those who do not know, this is basically a game which shows your room using its camera and you, the player. Using your body as the controller, you can be at the centre of the game in this case stroking your pet and playing with it, as if it was real!!! You can interact with this cute little creature and play all sorts of games. See more:http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/games/eyepet-ps3.html
See more on the Move page being released on the 2nd of November 2010!
